→Yiannis Vlassopoulos is a researcher who has a degree in Mathematics from the University of Athens and a Ph.D from Duke University, USA. He has worked at the Institut des Hautes Etudes Scientifiques, in Paris for half the time between 2002 to 2019. The remaining time he worked at the University of Athens and the University of Vienna, Austria and was a visiting researcher at the Max Planck Institute in Bonn, the University of Miami and the Simons Centre for Geometry and Physics at Stony Brook University, NY.
Until 2015 he was working on mathematics related to String Theory (theoretical physics). Since 2015 he has been working on Natural Language modelling and for the last few years he has been focusing on Transformer Neural Networks (like ChatGPT for example) and in particular on how to
model and control semantics and logical implications in such large language models. In 2017 he cofounded a company in NY for Language modelling with machine learning. He is currently an Adjunct Researcher at the Athena Research Centre at the Institute of Language and Speech
Processing.
