What is a 100mentors Q&A and how does it work? Part 2: The answer

Last Updated on January 26, 2021

In our last post, we discussed the flip side of the Q&A: The Question, and how it works on the 100mentors app. Check it out to learn who’s asking them, how they’re related to your expertise, and how to offer feedback on them!

At 100mentors we are proud to give mentors the opportunity to share their thoughts, expertise, and insights in 100-second byte-sized videos that they can share with students – or their own networks anytime, anywhere.

This is actually the core value of what we strive for:  in a world where students (and all of us!) are constantly being asked to track many data points, we believe that mere seconds matter, and we see these 100-second answers not as the end of the discussion, but as a great start for multiple ones.

What happens after posting my answer?

When you respond to a learner’s question, you ignite the spark of a conversation not just between you and them, but with their peers, friends, or teachers and students. Instantly, the learner you’ve answered gets notified that their question has been answered – and suddenly, their curiosity has been rewarded. Others in their classroom or learning community can watch too and continue the cycle of inquiry – this can lead to more students posing more and more questions around this topic.

Every unique learner’s view is reflected in your in-app “You” screen, where you’ll see an indicative tally of students’ inspired indication. And while a “student-inspired” is a unique view, all additional views take into account that a single learner may view your response multiple times, especially if it’s particularly captivating!

How can I be sure that I am impacting learners?

By responding to questions relevant to your fields of interest via 100-seconds videos, you are creating meaningful content available for multiple learners, meaning that learners in a community with the same interests can view your answer and get inspired.

The more answers you provide, the more learners you will be able to reach and thus inspire – it’s exponential. You can easily track your impact through the 100mentors app and receive real-time data on your ”You” screen if you want to see how far and wide your answers reach. Plus, when viewing your answers on the app, you can also see how each answer performs individually, This way, you can easily figure out what kind of content students crave, and you can keep producing top-watched answers!

What is behind the 100-seconds philosophy for me and the mentees?

Finally, we know that, traditionally, mentors spend a lot of time when sharing their knowledge – because we know you know a lot. That’s amazing (if you have the luxury of time), but through the 100-second structure, you are able to focus your knowledge to share the few points that are often the most critical ones. The 100seconds limit is actually a fast and adaptive learning system that is tailor-made to the needs of 21st-century learners, who are growing up as digital natives. At the same time, it helps you – the mentor – clear past the details and to the heart.

Closing tip

PS: Don’t forget to check out the new features in the app. We‘ve recently added the Share Your Answer feature. Many of you have requested the ability to post your answers on social – or share them with a friend – and we’ve heard you. It’s now easy for more and more people (after all, we are all learners) to view your answer to a wonderment question. Let’s try to spark multiple conversations! You can always tag us using #100mentors so that we can reshare your posts on our page!
